Athanasios Kyritsis was born in 1989 in Karditsa, Greece. He received his joint B.Sc. and M.Sc. Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2014.
During his studies, he has been working for a year for the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (OTE SA) as a call centre agent and a technical assistant at the Remote Network Operations Centre.
He first arrived in Geneva in February 2013 when he started working at CERN as a technical student. During his 14-month internship he elaborated his diploma thesis on non-ionising radiation measurements. He has also performed EMC measurements and has characterized ionisation chambers and coaxial cables for the radiation protection group. He has also been involved in the development of a new website for his department using the Drupal CMS.
Due to his passion for mobile technologies and Android development, from May 2015 he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Travelling and Mobility group of the University of Geneva, working on indoor positioning and indoor navigation techniques.
